Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Thursday told lawmakers that he fired former Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director Susan Monarez because she admitted to being untrustworthy. 

During his nearly three very contentious hours before the Senate Finance Committee, Kennedy was questioned about his position on vaccines, on the general health of the American population, and his hiring and firing of CDC advisers.
