FBI Director Kash Patel said Tuesday while testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee that possibly people in addition to the one person now in custody in connection with the killing of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk could be involved in the fatal shooting.

Louisiana GOP Sen. John Kennedy asked Patel whether Tyler Robinson, the alleged killer of Kirk, worked alone.

Patel responded by saying, “It’s very much an ongoing investigation,” according to CBS News.

Kennedy pressed Patel by asking, “So others could have been involved?”

“Yes, sir,” Patel said.

Kirk was assassinated Wednesday while speaking at a rally at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Robinson is expected to be charged Tuesday with aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, and obstruction of justice.

He will also testify before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday.
