The Trump administration on Tuesday asked the Supreme Court to intervene in a case involving the deportation of illegal aliens to third-party countries, such as South Sudan.
The government argued that the order was slow-walking its attempts to remove illegal aliens whose home countries would not accept them.
At issue is a lower court judge’s order demanding that the deported persons be permitted to challenge their removal to South Sudan, the Associated Press reported. Judge Brian Murphy found that the administration’s flights violated a court order.
In the meantime, Murphy allowed the administration to holding hearings with the illegals still abroad instead of returning them to the United States.
