More problems have beset Shakira’s ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour’ with a second concert canceled this week.
On Friday organizers confirmed that Saturday’s performance at the WorldPride Welcome Concert at Nationals Park in Washington D.C. will not go ahead. The news was announced with a post on social media by Nationals Park.
On Thursday Shakira was forced to cancel another show at Chicago’s Fenway Park. At the time no reason was given for the cancellation but it has since emerged that there was a structural concern at the venue.
The DC venue told fans that the second delay was due to the previous complications: “Shakira’s full tour production cannot be transported to Washington, D.C. in time for her scheduled performance at Nationals Park on Saturday, May 31.”

Following the latest cancellation, the Nations also released a statement from Shakira on their website. It reads: “Due to circumstances beyond my control, I am sad and heartbroken that I will not be able to be in Washington, D.C. with you tomorrow. I hope that I can come back to D.C., as soon as I am able. Meanwhile, please know that I am eternally thankful for your unconditional support.”
Unfortunately for excited fans, this is not the first time that Shakira has cancelled shows in the nation’s capital. She was also forced to pull out of two concert dates at Capital One Arena back in November 2024.
For disappointed fans, they will at least get a refund for the cancelled tickets. Those who bought their tickets from Ticketmaster or Nationals.com will automatically get their money back. Anyone who bought from a third-party reseller should contact their vendor directly.
