Ricky Rubio had already announced he was done playing basketball in the NBA.

But now the one-time dazzling Minnesota Timberwolves point guard appears to be hanging up his basketball shoes entirely.

Rubio left a bit of room for interpretation with his heartfelt social media post this week. Have a read for yourself:

Regardless of what it means, it’s a powerful message from Rubio, who was honest later in his career about some of the personal struggles he dealt with along his pro basketball journey.

He took the world by storm as a teenager starring in Spain, then came to the NBA with an unprecedented amount of hype for an international guard.

Rubio was a magician with the basketball, capable of finding teammates from angles and with passes that no one else could even fathom, let alone execute.

His final career stats don’t even tell the full story. Rubio was an experience you had to watch to appreciate.

If this post means there are no more Rubio dimes to distribute, it’s a good day to remember just how fun he was to watch make magic happen on the NBA floor for a dozen seasons.
