The Detroit Lions have come a long way from being one of the laughingstocks of the league to one of the most beloved teams by NFL fans over the last few years.
Since Dan Campbell’s first year as Detroit’s head coach, when the team finished 3-13-1, they’ve gone 36-15, winning the NFC North twice and coming in second once (2022).
Not only are they winning games at an impressive rate, but the Lions have also been one of the most exciting teams to watch weekly. Their electric offense and strong defense earned coordinators Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn head coaching jobs this offseason.
Speaking to Detroit’s popularity, the NFLPA recently released their top-50 highest-selling jerseys from March 1, 2024 to February 28, 2025. The Lions had five players make that list, including defensive end Aidan Hutchinson (No. 7), wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown (No. 8), running back Jahmyr Gibbs (No. 20), quarterback Jared Goff (No. 22) and tight end Sam LaPorta (No.47).
Making this level of fandom and appreciation even more impressive, Detroit was the only team in the league to have three players crack the top 20 on this list.
With Hutchinson, St. Brown, Gibbs and LaPorta all 25 years old or younger, they should be fan favorites for a while, and even Goff, as the lone outlier at 30, can still be a solid starting quarterback in this league for a while.

However, with a group of talented, new players entering the league through the 2025 NFL draft, it wouldn’t be surprising to see one or two of these guys fall of this same list next year. Unfortunately, they probably won’t be replaced by any of Detroit’s veteran additions this offseason or first-round pick Tyleik Williams, unless the defensive tackle shocks everyone in his first year and puts up a Defensive Rookie of the Year campaign.
Still, at this point, it’s impressive how much Lions fans are showing out, and even cooler to see just how much fans of the support have embraced the team.
