Florida GOP Rep. Greg Steube said on Wednesday the FBI agents who helped mislead the public regarding the shooting at the 2017 GOP baseball practice should be fired.Ā

“I personally called on Kash Patel…if there are agents that were involved in this investigation that still work for the bureau that were involved in basically hiding what really occurred for political purposes, they should all be fired,” he said on the “John Solomon Reports” podcast.Ā

A new congressional report came out Tuesday that said the FBI ā€œmisled the publicā€ for years in claiming a sniper’s attempt to kill Republican congressmen at a June 2017 baseball practice was “suicide by cop,ā€ when it was in fact domestic terrorism.Ā

“They should be investigated to see if they obstructed justice, to see if they violated any criminal statutes or federal laws, and then they should be prosecuted,” Steube said.Ā

The 27-page House Intelligence Committee report concludes that ā€œthe FBI’s bottom line – ā€˜the FBI does not believe there is a nexus to terrorism’ – was based upon falsehoods, half-truths, and manipulations of the known facts.ā€

Arizona GOP Rep. Andy Biggs criticized the FBI on the “Just the News, No Noise” TV show Tuesday evening about the same issue.

“We should not be surprised that that agency and the leaders of that agency would then cover up that this guy was a radical,” Biggs said.Ā
