The Cleveland Cavaliers are positioned to make some changes this offseason. After dominating during the regular season, the Cavaliers had a disappointing showing in the 2025 NBA playoffs. Now, most Cavs trade rumors have been playing with the idea of making some bold moves to strengthen their roster even further to attempt another deep playoff run next season. Some NBA trade rumors and ideas get a bit ridiculous. This is one of those Cavs trades.

The trade proposed by Twitter user @ButlerIIIMuse is as follows:

Golden State Warriors Receive: Jarrett Allen

Cleveland Cavaliers Receive: Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, 2028 first-round pick (top-10 protected), 2031 first-round pick swap

This Cavs trade rumor is utterly ridiculous. The Cavaliers would not get rid of one of their key starters for younger, less experienced players and two potentially valuable draft picks.

Sure, Brandin Podziemski and Moses Moody would fit in well with the Cavs roster. They can pay great defense and are both decent three-point shooters. Podziemski would bring another ball-handler into the equation, while Moody could be a decent starting small forward as he improves.

The thing is, this trade doesn’t make the Cavaliers better now, and the first-round picks, while potentially valuable, don’t do much for a contending team.

If the 2028 pick was fully unprotected, that could make things more interesting. Still, it isn’t the time for the Cavaliers to give up on Allen. Especially not for this weak return.

All Cavs trade rumors should be about the team making some minor tweaks on the margins. They were one of the best teams in the league last season and ran into some injury issues in the playoffs. If they were healthy, they could be battling Oklahoma City for an NBA championship right now.
