For the majority of the year, it might feel as if Jimmy Kimmel is everywhere, all of the time. However, as has been the case in recent summers, the 57-year-old will be taking a break from his jam-packed schedule, which will affect “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”.
How long will Kimmel be off “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”?
If you’re a fan of the show, there’s no need to worry – it won’t be going anywhere. You will, though, have to make do without Jimmy until Labor Day, which is on Monday, September 1 this year.
On the most recent recording of the show, Kimmel announced that a series of guest hosts will be stepping in to keep it ticking over until he gets back, starting with Mexican actor Diego Luna, of “Andor” and “Narcos: Mexico” fame, who just “happened” to be in the audience.

- Chris Distefano

The comedy and acting communities will be well represented, with all but rapper and singer Jelly Roll falling into those two categories.
Anderson, Byer and Nanjiani know what to expect having previously acted as guest hosts, although Luna, Cumming, Distefano, Feimster and Jelly Roll will all stand in for Kimmel for the first time.

This year is the sixth in which Kimmel has disappeared from our screens over the summer. Since 2020, the New Yorker has been replaced as host for a few weeks each year, with the exception of 2023, when no shows were made due to the dual labor strikes in Hollywood.
