When are the Golden State Warriors going to make a move? Fans are starting to get restless at the lack of Warriors trade and free agency action this offseason. One of the only ways some Warriors trade targets can be acquired is through a Jonathan Kuminga sign-and-trade. Let’s look at a new Warriors trade rumor that could land a perfect role player in Golden State.

Allen Stiles, host of Sactown Sports 1140, reported recently on the Sacramento Kings-Kuminga rumors.

The Kings have been linked as a possible landing spot for Kuminga, and they have one player on the trade block that the Warriors would love to add to their roster.

“Can confirm, the Monk/Kuminga conversations have happened. But the base-year compensation rule is why this is tough. With Monk making $18 mil, Warriors would have to add another salary to make the money work. Or they just sign and move him in Dec with an easy salary match,” reported Stiles.

It sounds like a Malik Monk-Warriors trade is possible, but it will be difficult to pull off. Monk would be an ideal 6th man in Golden State. Monk can run an offense without much help, and the Warriors are desperate for someone with his playmaking and scoring.

While the contracts to make a Malik Monk-Warriors trade may be difficult, it’s a good sign that the conversations have happened. The Warriors could potentially get creative by bringing in another team in a Kuminga sign-and-trade. The Malik Monk-Warriors fit on the court is probably worth looking into, all the options for.
