The Trump administration on Wednesday announced a record low in border crossings for the month of June while touting that it had released zero illegal aliens into the U.S. interior for the second month in a row.

Border Patrol encounters in June fell to a record low of 6,070 at the southern border while “gotaways” fell 90% over the same month in 2024. The Border Patrol previously confirmed that figure to be an average of 38 per day.

June 28 marked a lowest single-day encounter record, with the Border Patrol encountering a mere 137 border crossers.

The administration used the border security statistics to urge Congress to follow through with the “Big, Beautiful Bill” to expand Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel and to finish the southern border wall.
