The comedy-drama film ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ followed the story of a fading actor and his stunt double, traversing the chaotic world of 1960s Hollywood.
Released in 2019, the Quentin Tarantino-directed film was both a huge commercial and critical success with top performances from an incredible cast list of stars. The film was awarded the Golden Globe for Best Picture (Comedy) and received ten nominations at the Academy Awards, winning two (Best Supporting Actor of Brad Pitt, Best Production Design).
Six years on, a sequel is set to begin production this summer. This time it will be David Fincher to direct and he is bringing some new names into the fold.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Scott Caan and Elizabeth Debicki are already signed on to join the production, with Brad Pitt also returning to reprise his role.

It is thought that the story will revolve around Cliff Booth, played by Pitt, as the former stuntman attempts to pick up his life after the dramatic events of the first film. The new movie is said to add in two key female roles, one who runs a bar and another who is a trophy wife. There is some evidence to suggest that the new film picks up the plot in 1977, eight years after the first film finished.
But aside from that, there is precious little to go on for impatient fans hoping for a sneak preview of the new movie.
“This film is more secretive than Star Wars,” one source told The Hollywood Reporter.
What we do know, however, is that the new film will be produced by Netflix, the latest big-budget picture to come from the streaming giants. Although there is no word from Netflix on the scope of the film or a potential release date, we do know that production has already begun in California this summer.
