Alabama GOP Attorney General Steve Marshall praised President Donald Trump Thursday for the decision to move Space Command from Colorado to Alabama.
“Huntsville has a remarkable history with the rocket program and significant resources that are there with both engineers and a community that supports it,” Marshall said on the “Just the News, No Noise” TV show. “We’re so excited that President Trump did what he did.”
Trump on Tuesday announced a plan to move the United States Space Command from Colorado to Alabama.
The move comes as Trump has also floated relocating the FBI headquarters to its facility in Alabama.
Trump established the Space Force in 2019, building the branch out of components of the Air Force. Space Operations Command is currently based at an Air Force base in Colorado Springs.
“We’re really proud to be able to welcome those individuals that will lead the command right here in Alabama,” Marshall said.
