The Athletics began a three-game series on Monday against the Los Angeles Angels. Unfortunately, the game ended in a 7-4 loss.

But, the talking point of the game, and the entire league, was the absurd home run robbery by Athletics outfielder Denzel Clarke.

In the first inning, Clarke robbed a home run off the bat of Nolan Schanuel in a moment that left everybody’s jaw hitting the floor.

Clarke climbed the wall and somehow, someway, pulled off arguably the best home run robbery in the history of MLB.

After the game, Clarke spoke about the catch and called it the best of his career, per Martin Gallegos of MLB.com.

“I’m always very tentative to say this was the best one. But I think this is probably the best one I’ve ever made.”

Yeah, no kidding.

In all honesty, that might be the best in the history of baseball – that’s how good it was.

And, it wasn’t anything new for Clarke, who also robbed a home run recently against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Oh, and here’s another unreal catch by Clarke.

It was also a bit of a homecoming for Clarke, who played college baseball at Cal State Northridge and was playing his first MLB game at Angel Stadium.

So, that catch will be one that will be replayed for a long, long time. What a moment.
