At least 73 people were killed and 150 wounded while asking aid at various locations across Gaza on Sunday, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
At least 67 of those killed were in northern Gaza where people were seeking aid through the Zikim crossing with Israel, according to the Associated Press, which cited the Health Ministry and local hospitals.Â
Some have been critically injured. It is unclear if the Israeli military or violent gangs were behind the deaths.Â
The Associated Press reported that some witnesses had said Israeli troops had opened fire on the crowd.
The AFP reported that Gaza’s civil defense agency said Israeli forces had shot at the crowd.Â
