Those in attendance at Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour have had plenty of memorable moments. But things got even more special for one couple at the star’s May 28 concert in New Jersey.

Early in the show Beyoncé spots a fan’s sign in the crowd, explaining that they already have a child named Carter and asking for the singer’s help with the second child’s gender reveal. Carter is the surname that Beyoncé took in her marriage to Jay-Z aka Shawn Carter.

Speaking into the microphone, Beyoncé said: “I’ll be back. I’m going to do it later.”

But it wasn’t yet clear exactly how the gender reveal would be done. But towards the end of the concert she returned to the couple and spoke to them. They handed her a folded up sign which contained the gender of their next child.

Turning to the crowd, Beyoncé opened the sheet and revealed the word ‘COWBOY’. She confirmed: “It’s a boy… God bless you. Congratulations! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of it.”

Video of the whole exchange was then shared online in a video posted on Instagram by Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother. Given that the concert had been marked by pouring rain for much of the evening, the wet conditions made it harder than expected for the singer to unwrap the message.

But Tina Knowles was more concerned about her daughter’s health, writing: “Wow!!!! Who takes the time and does a gender reveal when they are wet and cold? I was like Girlllllll you gonna get sick.”
