Brigitte Bardot’s health has sparked growing concern in France. The legendary actress has spent the past three weeks hospitalized, according to Var-Matin. The 91-year-old was rushed from her home in Saint-Tropez to a medical center in Toulon, where she underwent surgery for what has been described as a “serious illness.”
For now, her condition “remains worrying,” though the radio station ICI Provence reported that “she is slowly recovering.” No further details have been released about the reasons for her hospitalization or the exact nature of her illness. The EFE agency recalls that Bardot was previously admitted to hospital in 2023 due to a severe respiratory crisis.
She is being cared for by her son, Nicolas-Jacques Charrier, born from her marriage to film producer Jacques Charrier.
Her last public appearance
Bardot’s most recent public appearance came just a month ago when she presented her memoir, Mon BBcédaire. The publisher described it as “an immersion into the personality of a woman who defined her era through her independence, conviction, and audacity.”
In the book, the French actress not only shares unknown details of her private life but also defends “the freedom to be oneself, even when it disturbs others.” That same September, Bardot also launched a campaign to promote the adoption of abandoned animals through her foundation, created in 1973.
