The Defense Department inspector general’s report on the use of a Signal group chat to discuss military operations has been sent to Congress and will be released Thursday, according to a report.

The full report was sent to the Senate Armed Services Committee and is available to its members for immediate review in a secure room, unnamed sources told Axios on Tuesday.

In March, Trump administration officials used Signal to discuss sensitive plans regarding military strikes in Yemen.

Among those on call, organized by then National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, were Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and CIA Director John Ratcliffe.

The group chat became public when The Atlantic editor-in-chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, was inadvertently added.

The Pentagon inspector general began its review in April, after top Republicans and Democrats on Capitol Hill requested an expedited review.

Following the Signal group chat leak, the Trump administration said that no classified information was shared in the group chat.
