The approval rating of the Democratic Party has dropped to 40%, according to a Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll.

The poll released Monday shows that only four out of 10 voters approve of the job the Democratic Party is doing in July, according to The Hill newspaper.

Of the 40% who approved of the job the Democrats are doing, 72% were Democrats and 29% identified as independent or other voters.

This number is a slight decrease from a June poll where 42% of voters approved of the party’s performance.

The same Harvard CAPS/Harris poll also showed that the GOP had a 48% percent approval rating.

The poll was conducted between July 6 and July 8 and polled 2,044 registered voters. The margin of error is 2.2%.
