The Los Angeles Dodgers are urged to make a move for a slugger after the San Francisco Giants made a blockbuster move to acquire Rafael Devers.
The Giants are chasing the Dodgers for the NL West, and San Francisco bolstered the lineup with the addition of Devers. After the move, Major League Baseball analyst Scott Rogust of FanSided urges the Dodgers to acquire Luis Robert Jr. of the Chicago White Sox.
“The Dodgers can’t hesitate to trade for following the Giants’ acquisition of Devers… Robert’s injury history is concerning, he does have incredible slugging power when he is healthy,” Rogust wrote. “Let’s not forget that two seasons ago, Robert made it to the All-Star Game, and later that year, won a Silver Slugger award after hitting 38 home runs with a .542 slugging percentage.

“The Dodgers current starting outfield features Teoscar Hernandez, Andy Pages, and Michael Conforto. They can stand to add another name to the fold, one who could potentially knock in runs, like Robert,” Rogust added.
Robert is making $15 million this season and has two club options for $20 million in 2026 and 2027 as part of his six-year, $50 million deal.
Robert would be a great addition to the Dodgers’ roster as he fits a need in the outfield, as well as adding a bat to the middle of the lineup.
However, Robert has struggled this season as he’s hitting .194 with 6 home runs and 28 RBIs, but Los Angeles would be betting on him to rebound.
Robert won the Silver Slugger Award in 2023.
