Despite being released just a few days ago, K-Pop Demon Hunters has defied expectations and has become a massive hit for Netflix.
The film follows the K-pop girl group Huntr/x, which consists of three members: Rumi, Mira, and Zoey. While they are globally famous pop stars by day, they lead a double life as demon hunters. Their purpose is to protect a magical barrier, the Honmoon, which keeps the demon king, Gwi-Ma, and his hordes from feasting on human souls. The power of the Honmoon is maintained and strengthened by the collective energy of their fans through their music.

The film features a blend of genres, combining urban fantasy, action, and musical elements with the high-energy aesthetic of K-pop. It draws on Korean mythology and demonology, and its visual style is influenced by concert lighting, music videos, and anime and aimed at K-pop fans and younger women.
Google and Couch! Couch! Couch!
Google are piggy-backing the success of the Netflix release with an Easter egg.
When you search for the film’s title, a specific phrase from the movie, “Couch! Couch! Couch!”, will scroll across the top of the search results page.
This phrase is a recurring joke and a mantra for the main characters, HUNTR/X, who are constantly fighting demons and longing for a break. The Easter egg is a fun nod to a key moment in the film where they dream of a day to just relax on their couch.
