The Indian government is pausing plans to purchase U.S. arms after President Trump’s tariffs, according to a report on Friday citing Indian officials.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was reportedly scheduled to visit Washington for an announcement about the purchases, including weapons and aircraft, but the trip has been canceled.

Trump imposed a 25% tariff on Indian goods on Aug. 6 in response to New Delhi’s purchases of Russian oil.
