Have the feeling that the price of just about everything has been going up forever? Groceries, housing, energy… and now streaming services.

HBO Max is the latest to announce a price increase, following in the footsteps of Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Select, Peacock, Apple TV, and Netflix.

Warner Bros. Discovery has raised the cost of HBO Max plans for the third time in three years, with the latest hike taking effect Tuesday, Oct. 21.

How much HBO Max plans now cost

HBO Max Basic With Ads, which allows streaming on two devices simultaneously, now costs $10.99 per month (up from $9.99) or $109.99 annually (up from $99.99).

HBO Max Standard, which lets you stream on two devices without ads, now costs $18.49 a month (up from $16.99) or $184.99 per year (up from $169.99).

Lastly, HBO Max Premium, which offers 4K content with no ads and allows streaming on four devices at once, now costs $22.99 per month (up from $20.99) or $229.99 annually (up from $209.99).

When the new prices take effect

The changes apply to all new subscribers as of Oct. 21. Existing monthly subscribers will see the higher rates on their next billing date on or after Nov. 20. Yearly subscribers won’t pay more until their renewal date. Both monthly and annual customers will receive a 30-day notice before the increase takes effect.

Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN prices also going up

Streaming fans may want to mark Oct. 21 on their calendars. That’s also when Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN Select roll out new prices:

  • Disney+ with ads – $11.99/month (up from $9.99)
  • Disney+ Premium (no ads) – $18.99/month (up from $15.99)
  • Hulu with ads – $11.99/month (up from $9.99)
