After two great release directed by Tim Burton: ‘Batman’ and ‘Batman Returns’, fans of the superhero had reason to be optimistic. However, 1995’s mediocre ‘Batman Forever’ left a lot to be desired, but the worst was yet to come: ‘Batman and Robin’ (1997) was absolutely terrible despite a top-notch cast: George Clooney, Uma Thurman, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Chris O’Donnell and Alicia Silverstone. It was the latter who, despite the terrible reviews the film received at the time, was able to see the positive side even in the infamous nipples on Bruce Wayne’s suit.
“When it came out, I don’t think people liked it very much,” recalls Silverstone, who played Batgirl at the time. “But a long time later, people tell me it’s their favorite, at least my gay friends. It’s very effeminate.”
“Oh my God! Did you see our costumes? I think we all have big boobs‚” continues the actress, now 48. “All three of us have breasts. Putting on the costume took a lot of time and energy, but once you were in it, you couldn’t go to the bathroom. So these costumes weren’t easy.”

Silverstone has the “honor” of having won a Razzie for Worst Supporting Actress for that film, but she still holds a fondness for it thanks to sharing the screen with George Clooney, something she called “a dream.” “He really was like a big brother in those circumstances. He was great,” Silverstone said. “He stood up for me and was reasonable when things weren’t going well.”
Alicia Silverstone was one of the girls of the 90s. After debuting in ‘The Crush’ (1993), it wouldn’t be a film or a series that propelled her to fame, but a music video. It was ‘Crazy’, by the rock band Aerosmith, in which she appeared alongside fellow actress Liv Tyler, daughter of the band’s lead singer.
