“What the f*** is that?” This was the immediate question posed by TV host John Oliver after sharing the latest AI offering from Donald Trump’s team. You’ll have to see it (below) to believe it, but afterwards you, like me, may be wondering if politics, at least in the United States, has entered a parallel universe.
Who needs intellectual debate, anyway, right? A digitally created, soundbite laden, narcissist’s dream is all that the voters require to convince them of what to think. Or that’s certainly the way it appears given what’s coming out of the White House, this specific creation all about the government shutdown.

As Oliver points out, as well as some obvious nods to the racist element of the right, and a digital makeover for both the POTUS and his VP, the video suggests that Russ Vought – you may remember him from Project 2025 – is now in charge… of everything! Or maybe he has been all along.
