Leonardo DiCaprio is famous for his high-profile relationships, but there’s a long-running theory that the Oscar winner never dates women older than 25. Now, it seems the Titanic star has broken his “rule” – his current girlfriend is 27.
From his past public relationships, none of DiCaprio’s partners have been older than 25. And while rumors once linked him to Rihanna and Gigi Hadid – who at the time were 28 and 26, respectively – these alleged romances were never confirmed.
The ‘25-year rule’ of Leonardo DiCaprio
In the 1990s, rumors linked him to Bridget Hall. From 1996 to 1998, he dated actress Kristen Zang. In 1998, speculation swirled about a possible romance with Vanessa Trump, then known as Vanessa Haydon – at the time, DiCaprio was 24.
Over the years, he was on-and-off with Gisele Bündchen from 1999 to 2005 – the year the supermodel turned 25. From 2006 to 2011, DiCaprio dated model Bar Refaeli, who also turned 25 in 2011. That same year, he was linked to actress Blake Lively, then 24.
In 2011, he dated model Erin Heatherton, who was 23. Later, reports tied the Inception star to model Toni Garrn – their relationship reportedly ended in 2014 when she was 22, though they are thought to have briefly reunited in 2017, when she was 25.
In 2015, he dated model Kelly Rohrbach, then 25. The following year, he was rumored to be with Nina Agdal, a relationship that ended a year later when she was 25. In 2018, he began dating actress and model Camila Morrone – they split four years later, in 2022, the year she turned 25.
DiCaprio and Vittoria Ceretti
In August 2023, DiCaprio and model Vittoria Ceretti sparked dating rumors. Since then, the pair have kept their relationship private. What surprised many is that when they started seeing each other, Ceretti had just turned 25 – and this year, she’s 27.
That milestone leaves behind the long-standing theory that the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star never dates women over 25.
