Liam Neeson is widely regarded as one of the most respected actors in the film industry. Over a career spanning more than four decades, the British actor has showcased remarkable versatility, taking on roles in films as varied as Schindler’s List, Taken, Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, and his latest project, The Naked Gun.
During the press tour for this new film, the 73-year-old actor opened up in an interview with Rolling Stone about a particular trait in fellow professionals that he finds intolerable.
“I’ve heard disturbing stories about very talented actors and actresses who show up on set two, three, even four hours late. I would never work with those people. I find it very insulting,” said the Oscar nominee. “You’ve got a crew of 60, 70, sometimes 80 people waiting for you. The least you can do is show them respect by arriving on time.”
While it may seem surprising to see Neeson in a zany comedy like this sequel to Leslie Nielsen’s beloved saga, the actor has made it clear in recent interviews that he’s stepping away from the action genre that has long defined his career.

“I’m 73 years old, for fuck’s sake!” Neeson told Variety. “I don’t want to offend the audience if they’re watching a full-on fight scene and it’s clearly not me. I just wouldn’t do it. Until recently, I enjoyed doing my own fight scenes. But I’m not about to do them with a walker or a cane. Sure, there might be another one out there, but there’s nothing definitive on the horizon.”
