It seems as though just about every day, another team is revealed to have been contacted by the New York Knicks as they continue to search for their replacement for Tom Thibodeau.

So far, the Knicks have been quite brash and up-front in their search, casting an incredibly wide net as to who is being considered. The team has  requested permission to speak with the head coaches of the Houston Rockets (Ime Udoka), Minnesota Timberwolves (Chris Finch), Chicago Bulls (Billy Donovan), Atlanta Hawks (Quin Snyder), and Dallas Mavericks (Jason Kidd) all in the span of just nine days since Thibodeau was relieved of his duties.

So, who haven’t the Knicks contacted? Well, The Athletic’s Sam Amick has the answer.

Per a recent report from Amick, the Knicks have not requested permission to speak with The Indiana Pacers’ Rick Carlisle, the Golden State Warriors’ Steve Kerr, the Milwaukee Bucks’ Doc Rivers, the Los Angeles Clippers’ Ty Lue, and the Los Angeles Lakers’ JJ Redick.

It’s worth mentioning that this could very well change in the upcoming days, as the Knicks have shown a willingness to contact just about anyone to fill their vacancy, no matter their employment status. But for now, New York has narrowed down their search to two main candidates.

Mike Brown and Taylor Jenkins — neither of whom are currently employed — have emerged as two primary candidates for the job. Brown was last head coach of the Sacramento Kings, and Jenkins was last head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies.
