The Stefon Diggs era in New England hasn’t gotten off to the best start.
The star wide receiver is making headlines for all the wrong reasons after videos of him throwing a wild party on a boat have gone viral on social media.
The Patriots have acknowledged they’re aware of the videos, which have surfaced while Diggs is absent from Pats OTAs.
One local radio host in Boston thinks New England may react in a strong way.
Scott Zolak of 98.5 The Sports Hub says Diggs could be released before he plays a down with the Patriots.
āI came to this show yesterday with the opinion ā not opinion, but the knowledge that it is on the table,ā Zolak said of cutting Diggs. āThat it is being thought of. And itās not just the boat. Itās not just the boat. There are some other things that Iāve heard that put some things in question. Are you all-in here?
āThe videos look great of him working out. Iāve touted the videos. I know you need diva receivers. I say he shouldnāt be cut, because I think he would help Drake Maye and this offense and Josh McDaniels, because you would have a true viable guy that would set coverage. Right now, you still donāt have a guy who sets coverage. Iām sorry.ā

New England gave Diggs a three-year contract worth $69 million to be Drake Maye’s top target.
He’s coming off an ACL tear with the Texans, but most reports indicate Diggs has progressed well in his recovery and should be ready at or near the start of the season.
Many wide receivers through the years have earned the “diva” label, so Diggs very well could stick around and be just fine.
It’s not clear whether this report has great legs to it, but it’s interesting nonetheless. Diggs may want to show up and get to work and set a better example.
