Police say that car colliding with pedestrians in Liverpool is not being treated as terrorism

The incident of a car crashing into a large crowd of people in Liverpool, England, celebrating their football team’s league victory is not being treated as terrorism. 

The Merseyside Police have confirmed the arrest of a 53-year-old white British man from the Liverpool area and at a news conference, the assistant chief constable said they believe him to be the driver of the car, according to ESPN. 

The representative of the North West Ambulance Service confirmed at the news conference that 47 people were injured, 27 of whom were taken to the hospital. No deaths have been reported. Four people, including a child, were trapped under the vehicle.
