Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi, D-Ill., on Monday announced his departure from the post of ranking member on the House committee dedicated to trade competition with China.

“I look forward to working closely with them to ensure that Democrats on this Committee continue to succeed, advancing policies that allow the United States to compete and win while remaining firmly grounded in the values that define us,” he said, according to Politico.

Rep. Ro Khanna, D-Calif., will take his place on the panel.

Krishnamoorthi has mounted a Senate campaign to replace the retiring Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., in the 2026 midterms.
