South Carolina State University locked down after dorm shooting reports

Authorities placed South Carolina State University on lockdown late Saturday night following reports of gunfire near the Hugine Suites dormitory, university officials said. 

According to a campus alert, the lockdown was triggered after “shots fired at Hugine Suites.”  

Students were told to shelter in place. 

There has been no information released about injuries or suspects.
