Betty Buckley is still going strong, performing songs from the stage shows she starred in (1776, Gypsy, Carrie, Cats… etc) as well as cuts from her numerous studio albums.
The Tony Award winner, who turns 78 in July, is set to return for a run of nights in New York City this month. Betty will hit the stage to go through her repertoire over three nights at Joeâs Pub in Manhattan – the second year running she has enjoyed a mini residency at the Public Theater on Lafayette Street.
Six intimate nights in New York City with Betty Buckley
Buckley, who gave her first and only performance of the year so far at Walker Recital Hall in Erie back in March, promised âsix intimate, must-see performancesâ in an Instagram post. Two shows per evening from May 15-17, starting at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
âThis limited engagement offers a rare opportunity to experience one of Broadwayâs most revered voices up close with her unforgettable live performance. Hailed as the âVoice of Broadway,â Buckley, a master storyteller, combines her consummate acting skills with an extraordinary ensemble of musicians to create a unique and mesmerizing evening of music.â
