The album came out in 2019, but Taylor Swift is still very much in her Lover era. The artist made her first appearance on Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce’s ‘New Heights’ podcast, just over two years after the Kansas City Chiefs player first opened up about her before they started a relationship.
On Wednesday’s episode with the Kelce brothers, Swift revealed the release date and cover of her new album, titled The Life of a Showgirl, which will reflect her experience during the Eras Tour, the most successful tour of all time.
On the other hand, Swift discussed her relationship with Travis Kelce, sharing how she came to love the NFL. She also talked about her passion for cooking and described the touching moment when her mother told her she would own her music and be able to purchase her master’s.
Taylor Swift thought Travis Kelce was “crazy”
Swift and Kelce’s relationship dates back to late July 2023 when the NFL star revealed his failed attempt to give Taylor a friendship bracelet with his phone number at one of the Eras Tour concerts.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t speak before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs she sings. So I was a little hurt because I didn’t get to give her one of the bracelets I made for her. I got a ton of them while I was there, but I wanted to give one to Taylor Swift with my number on it,” Travis told his brother Jason on the July 26, 2023, episode of his podcast ‘New Heights.’
In her podcast appearance, Taylor Swift revealed what she thought after watching the episode. “I was like, if this guy isn’t crazy, this is the kind of stuff I’ve been writing songs about since I was a teenager and I wanted to happen to me,” the singer said. “And I was in the audience during the Eras Tour, listening to all these songs and thinking, ‘This is what she wants me to do,’” Kelce added.
Swift also revealed that after she started dating Kelce, she had to learn how to play football, which made her very competitive. The “Shake It Off” singer attended her first game to support Travis on September 24, 2023, at Arrowhead Stadium.
That season, the singer attended 12 other games, both home and away, including the AFC Championship Game and, of course, the biggest game, Super Bowl LVIII, held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The following season, Swift also attended other games, including the 2025 Super Bowl, which they lost to the Eagles.
