Congressman Brian Babin, R-Texas, said Tuesday that the individual who killed Charlie Kirk was radicalized and was an “attack dog.”
“He was just simply radicalized,” Babin said on the “Just the News, No Noise” TV show. “He was ready to do anything. [He] was kind of like an attack dog. He had been ginned up on this dark web.”
Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray on Tuesday announced seven charges, including murder, against suspect Tyler Robinson in connection with the fatal shooting last week of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk, and said he would seek the death penalty in the case.
Kirk was assassinated last week while speaking at an event in Utah.Â
“He obviously was a left-wing radical,” Babin said, referencing the alleged suspect. “They have really awakened a sleeping giant in the wake of his death.”
Babin said that the way to continue Kirk’s legacy was to help young Americans start Turning Point USA chapters in their communities and schools.
