When Emily in Paris returns for a fresh run of episodes in the coming months, the romantic comedy will be without a major cast member from its four seasons so far.
Earlier this year, actor Camille Razat confirmed her departure from the hit Netflix series, whose plot revolves around Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), an American woman who moves to the French capital to join a marketing firm.
Razat, who plays Emily’s longtime ‘frenemy’ Camille, revealed in a social-media post that her character’s arc has “come to an end” – although she didn’t rule out returning to the show in the future.
“The right moment to explore new horizons”
“After an incredible journey, I’ve made the decision to step away from Emily in Paris,” Razat wrote on Instagram in April.
“It has been a truly wonderful experience, one filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable memories.
“I’m deeply grateful to [series creator] @starmandarren and the entire team at @netflix and @paramountpics for their trust and for giving me the opportunity to bring Camille to life and leaving the door open for her return, as she will always be a part of Emily In Paris world.”
Razat added: “This character has meant a lot to me, and I feel that her storyline has naturally come to an end. It felt like the right moment to explore new horizons […].
“I leave the show with nothing but love and admiration for the cast, crew, and fans who have supported us along the way. Thank you for the beautiful ride.”
When does Emily in Paris season five come out?
The new season’s release date has not yet been confirmed.
In May, Netflix confirmed that production was underway, with the show’s latest instalment slated to premiere “later in 2025”.
