A Rasmussen poll released Friday showed President Donald Trump’s approval rating between Sept. 10, the day the late-activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated, and Friday, Sept. 19, spiked by approximately five percentage points.
The daily presidential tracking poll found that 48% of likely U.S. voters approved of Trump’s leadership on Sept. 10, compared to 53% of likely voters who approve of the president’s leadership as of Friday. The latest poll found that 46% disapprove.
Kirk, a conservative activist, was fatally shot during an appearance at Utah Valley University earlier this month.
The daily poll also found that approximately 34% of respondents strongly approve of the job Trump is doing and 37% strongly disapprove. The poll, which questions 1,500 likely voters each week, has a 2.5% margin of error.
