Two people were reportedly injured Thursday in a shooting that involved a federal officer in Portland, Oregon, according to local police.

The status of the two people was not immediately clear, but the pair have been described as a male and a female, ABC News reported. The victims have been transported to a local hospital.

The incident, which took place at approximately 2:30 p.m. local time, allegedly involved U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers.

Details on the circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately clear, but it comes a day after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer fatally shot a woman in Minneapolis who was allegedly attempting to run agents over with her car.

“We are still in the early stages of this incident,” Portland Police Chief Bob Day said in a statement. “We understand the heightened emotion and tension many are feeling in the wake of the shooting in Minneapolis, but I am asking the community to remain calm as we work to learn more.”

The FBI’s Portland office said it was investigating the incident, according to the Associated Press.
