U.S. has 935 measles cases, outbreaks in one-fifth of states: CDC data

The U.S. has 935 measles cases and outbreaks have occurred in one-fifth of states, according to an analysis of U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data.

Cases across the nation are rising.

According to the Associated Press, the 935 case number is more than triple the number of cases in 2024. The AP reported that “the three-month outbreak in Texas accounts for the vast majority of cases.” 

Outbreaks have occurred in New Mexico, Oklahoma and Kansas as well.
