United States Southern Command said Monday that it has killed two “male narco-terrorists” in its latest kinetic strike on an alleged drug trafficking boat in the Eastern Pacific.
The Trump administration has largely been attacking alleged drug boats from Venezuela in its fight against drug cartels, and has conducted over two dozen strikes against the boats so far, which have killed at least 107 alleged “narco-terrorists.”Â
SOUTHCOM said the latest operation was ordered by War Secretary Pete Hegseth and no U.S. military forces were harmed.
“Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations in international waters,” the command posted to X. “Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. Two male narco-terrorists were killed.”
The military strike was part of the Trump administration’s efforts to curb illicit drug smuggling operations into the U.S.Â
