‘We’re at war’: Homan backs military strikes on cartels

Border Czar Tom Homan this week stood by the Trump administration using military assets to combat the drug cartels in the wake of a controversy over the targeting of a suspected drug boat in Venezuela.

Speaking to NewsNation on Monday, Homan said that the cartels have “killed more Americans than any war. So, yeah, we’re at war [with] the cartel.”

“I support it. There’s a reason the president designated terrorist organizations,” he said of the use of warships to attack cartel boats.

The U.S. has formally labeled Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro as a cartel leader and posted a bounty for his capture. It has further moved to revoke temporary protected status (TPS) for Venezuelans in the U.S.
