Despite mixed reviews, the latest studio album from Taylor Swift has been another resounding triumph with “The Life of a Showgirl” achieving massive commercial success, breaking numerous records globally.
The album debuted with over 4 million equivalent album units in its first week in the U.S., which is the largest first week in the modern era of music tracking (since 1991). It surpassed the previous record held by Adele’s 25 (3.378 million). The album had over 3.4 million pure album sales in the first week in the U.S.

The album also set a new record for the most copies of a vinyl album sold in a single week in the U.S. (1.2 million copies on the first day alone).
The singer-songwriter plans to launch two new projects before 2025 closes out with two documentaries slated for December release via Disney+.
The Six-Part Docuseries: The End of an Era
This project is the actual documentary series, giving an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at the tour’s production.
The series will chronicle the logistics and creation of her record-breaking, generation-defining Era’s tour. It is expected to provide a deep dive into Swift’s life and the process of putting on the globe-spanning show.
The series is scheduled to premiere on December 12, with two episodes dropping each week and will be available for streaming on Disney+.
Early suggestions that the documentary will give an intimate look at Taylor’s life as her tour made headlines and will feature cameos from contemporaries like Gracie Abrams, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran, and Florence Welch.

Concert Film: The Eras Tour: The Final Show
This is a second, updated concert film capturing the very end of the tour. This film will be a complete concert movie shot at the final stop of the tour in Vancouver, Canada, on December 8, 2024.
This version is expected to include the songs and setlist material from her 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department, which was not yet released when the original 2023 concert film (Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour) was filmed.
It is also scheduled to debut on December 12 and will also be available for streaming on Disney+.
