Historic wins for actors

Among the highlights of the evening were Tramell Tillman (“Severance”) becoming the first Black actor to win the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, and 15-year-old Owen Cooper (“Adolescence”) claiming victory in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category. Cooper’s win made him the youngest Emmy winner in history.

‘The Studio’ dominates with 13 awards

Satirical cringe comedy “The Studio,” starring Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series recipient Seth Rogen, was the night’s biggest winner. It collected 13 awards, including four in major categories.

It was followed by crime drama “The Penguin” (nine wins, one major), psychological drama “Adolescence” (eight wins, six major), science fiction thriller “Severance” (eight wins, two major), and medical procedural drama “The Pitt” (five wins, three major).

How and where to watch ‘The Studio’

“The Studio,” directed by Rogen and longtime collaborator Evan Goldberg, also took home the Outstanding Comedy Series award, defeating “The Bear,” “Abbott Elementary,” and “Only Murders in the Building.”

The show premiered exclusively on Apple TV+ on March 26, 2025, and has already been renewed for a second season.

How and where to watch ‘The Pitt’

“The Pitt,” executive produced by former “ER” duo John Wells and Noah Wyle, won the award for Outstanding Drama Series, beating “Severance,” “The White Lotus,” and “Andor.”

The first two episodes of “The Pitt” premiered on HBO Max on Jan. 9, 2025, with the remaining 13 episodes released weekly until April 10. The first season is set for a reairing on TNT this fall, although an exact date has not been announced. Season 2 is scheduled to begin on Jan. 8, 2026, again on HBO Max.

Viewers can also stream “The Pitt” on Prime Video, The Roku Channel, and through a Hulu bundle that includes Max.

How and where to watch ‘Adolescence’

The award for Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series went to “Adolescence,” which pipped “Black Mirror,” “Dying for Sex,” “The Penguin,” and “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.”

The British series, executive produced by Brad Pitt, debuted on Netflix on March 13, 2025. A few weeks later, reports surfaced that discussions had begun about a potential second season or a follow-up project.
