As is tradition, the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) are coming up, celebrating the best from the music video industry over the past year.

The star-studded ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 7 at UBS Arena in New York, where a host of world-class artists will perform for the audience. This year’s lineup includes the likes of Ricky Martin and Sabrina Carpenter, who will be appearing for the second consecutive edition.

LL Cool J will host this unmissable event. MTV have not yet revealed the identities of the other presenters, performers and special guests, but they will be announced in the coming weeks.

Confirmed acts for the 2025 VMAs

  • Sabrina Carpenter
  • Alex Warren
  • Busta Rhymes
  • J Balvin
  • DJ Snake
  • Shadow
  • Ricky Martin

For Puerto Rican Ricky Martin, this is his first return to the MTV Video Music Awards stage after having done so in the 1999 edition with his hits “She’s All I Ever Had” and “Livin’ La Vida Loca.” Meanwhile Sabrina Carpenter will perform for the second consecutive year, coming off a win for Song of the Year with “Espresso”. This time around she is nominated in an astonishing eight categories.

However she is not the most-nominated act at the 2025 event, with that honor going to Lady Gaga, who leads the list with 12 nods to win. Another with multiple nominations is Bad Bunny, who has been nominated for “Best Latin Artist”, “Artist of the Year” and “Best Album”.

Fans will also be excited to learn that this will be the first time that the 2025 VMAs will air on CBS as an available extra, allowing more people to follow all the latest from the ceremony as it happens.
