Winning horse announced at 2025 Kentucky Derby

The winner of the 151st Kentucky Derby has been announced on Saturday.

Observers were closely watching Luxor Cafe (jockey Joao Moreira), Journalism (jockey Umberto Rispoli), Sovereignty (jockey Junior Alvarado) and Admire Daytona (jockey Christophe Lemaire).

There were 19 horses competing in the race. 

Sovereignty was the horse that ultimately came out on top and won the race.
