Aaron Judge is keeping the company of legends.
Many of his statistics so far this season have compared favorably to Babe Ruth. His latest accomplishment has only one predecessor, Mickey Mantle. Yeah, the New York Yankees have sure had some all-time greats.
What did Judge do now?
He ended May with a .398 batting average and 21 home runs after slugging two on Saturday night at Dodger Stadium.
Only one other player in MLB history has ever had a .390 average and 20 or more HRs at the end of May. That was Mantle, who had 20 homers and was hitting .414 at this time in 1956.

The Hall of Famer ended that 1956 season with 52 homers, 130 RBI and a .353 average. He put up a career-best .705 slugging percentage.
The regular season was still 154 games then, so Judge should get the chance to accumulate even a bit more statistically.
Right now, it’s just another chance to appreciate Judge’s greatness. He delivered two massive blasts on a night the Yankees lost 18-2, not even slowed down by the brutal evening the rest of the Bronx Bombers have.
They’ll be hoping for better scores going forward, sure, but with Judge, it’s almost a given at this point that good things will happen.
